Custom Furniture
Retrophile designs and builds custom furniture tailored to your space, needs, and aesthetic. Each piece is created through close collaboration, with careful attention to proportion, materials, and long-term durability.
From dining tables and case goods to one-of-a-kind built pieces, custom furniture allows for complete control over quality and design. Every project is built using time-tested joinery and finishing techniques — never shortcuts.
Custom furniture services include:
• Design consultation and material selection
• Solid wood and fine material construction
• Hand-crafted joinery
• Finishes chosen for beauty and longevity
Each piece is made to be used, lived with, and passed down.
Why Custom?Mass-produced furniture is built to a price point. Custom furniture is built to a standard.
When you commission a piece from Retrophile, you're working directly with Jacob — an artist, designer, and craftsman with over two decades of hands-on experience — from the first sketch through the final finish.
That means contributing to design drawings, choosing the wood species, the joinery method, the finish, and every dimension to suit your space and your life. It also means a piece that won't wobble, warp, or fall apart — because it was never designed to be replaced.
Custom furniture is an investment, and we treat it that way. Projects are scoped carefully, timelines are realistic, and you'll know exactly what to expect before any wood is cut.
What to Expect
Every custom furniture project begins with a consultation. We'll discuss your space, how you use it, your personal style and tastes, what materials appeal to you, and what your timeline looks like. From there, Jacob develops a design proposal and reviews it with you and incorporates your feedback until it’s exactly what you want, before work begins.
Most custom pieces are completed within 6–12 weeks depending on complexity, material availability, and current project load. We'll keep you informed throughout the process.
